"Help Me to Help You" Conversation

Many organizations are hesitant to have an initial conversation with professional counsel because they are afraid of receiving an invoice without receiving any benefit.  KFS can assure nonprofits that they will not receive an invoice for "Help Me to help You" meetings. These one-two hour conversations are critical for both the nonprofit and professional fundraising counsel to ensure a clear understanding of the organization's goals
and objectives.  Pro Bono Services.
Hourly "Helping Hands" Services

Not every executive director can afford to have a full-time fundraising professional on staff.  KFS can help fill that void.  From grant writing to processing annual fund letters...cleaning up donor-database or managing a special event, your nonprofit can enjoy the benefits
of having a certified fundraising professional, grant writer or development assistant as a part of your team on a contract basis.
Hourly rate is $25 or less for 501c3 organizations.

Strategic Planning Process (Organizational Self-Assessment)

KFS uses a strategic planning model which demonstrates Peter F. Drucker’s management principles and the application to your organization. Throughout facilitated dialogue, we will explore Peter Drucker’s five most important questions as found in his book, The Five Most Important Questions You Will Ever Ask About Your Organization.

1. What is Our Mission?    2. Who is Our Customer?  3. What Does the Customer Value?   4. What are Our Results?  5. What is Our Plan?

Major findings and recommendations generated during the dialogue session will be used by your board and management to revisit the mission,
set goals and develop the plan. The quality of organizational self-assessment depends on the participation of key stakeholders.
Self-Assessment Dialog Sessions are $200 for a four hour workshop (which includes the exploration of questions 1, 2 and 3).
Grant Research and Writing Services

KFS can perform a targeted search on the Foundation Directory Database at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh with specific criteria to see what foundations/corporations will support your program. This database “retails” in membership at approximately $200/month. The CLP offers it for free for members (with training, which our staff has already taken).

For a minimal cost of $200, KFS will provide a detailed report with 10-20 foundations specific to your program as well as a general letter of intent that can be modified and sent by snail mail or email. Your staff/volunteers could then apply for funding at your convenience, or our staff could provide grant-writing services for an additional $25/hour.

  • Research – perform a targeted search on the Foundation Directory Database for potential funders based on specific criteria;
  • Report – provide a detailed report with 10-20 foundations specific to the targeted program;
  • Write – a general letter of intent that can be used as a template for those funders who initially prefer to a brief synopsis of the program;
  • Grant Writing Services – hourly service based on funding opportunities selected by organization.
